You Can Help!
MAKE A DIFFERENCE! HELP SUPPORT THE HOSPICE!
The hospice can receive donations in the form of cheques, credit cards, marketable securities and through PayPal or CanadaHelps!
- To make things more convenient for you, you can use our online form:
You can use a verity of credit cards or PayPal.
- You can make a one-time donation, or set up a monthly giving programme.
- After you have completed the form, a tax receipt will be generated for you.
By Credit Card Through CanadaHelps.org:
You can use CanadaHelps.org! CanadaHelps is a non-profit organization that will enable you to donate to the Hospice. Your tax receipt will come directly from them and they charge the Hospice a fee comparable to credit card companies. If you wish to remain anonymous, this is a great option!
CanadaHelps.ca accepts donations in US dollars, but their treatment of non-Canadian dollar donations deserves some explanation. Your donation will be treated at face value. A donation of $100US will be processed as $100CAD, but the receipt and the amount charged to your card will reflect the exchange. (Donation of $100 will generate a receipt of $70US, assuming the exchange rate is 30%.)
Donations Through United Way:
If you donate to the United Way already, you can also designate a donation to be made to The Toronto Commandery Hospice! Many United Way locations in Canada provide a Donor Choice option that allows you to designate your donation to us. Our charitable registration number is 85136 7367 RR0001.
Cheques payable to “The Toronto Commandery Hospice” can be mailed to:
The Toronto Commandery Hospice
82 Buttonwood Avenue
York, ON M6M 2J5
Bequests are gifts made through your will. Planned today, a bequest is not paid to The Toronto Commandery Foundation Inc. after your death. You can give a specific sum of money, or a percentage of your estate.
To make a bequest, please speak to your lawyer about drafting or revising your will.
The following is a sample wording that could be included in your will:
"To pay the sum of * ($*) Dollars to The Toronto Commandery Hospice Inc. in the City of Toronto, Province of Ontario (the "Charity"). I direct that the person who professes to be the treasurer or such other proper officer for the time being of the Charity shall be a sufficient discharge to my Estate Trustee for such gift".
